BRIEFING

 〈1265〉 Prescription Drug Information—Guidelines. This proposal is based on the version of the chapter official prior to 2013. The Healthcare Safety & Quality Expert Committee is proposing the following revisions:

1. Remove “written” from the chapter title.

2. Add contextual information to the Introduction section to address medication adherence.

3. Update the format of the chapter.

4. Update principles for developing medication guides.

5. Add a table under the section Medication Guide Content to Promote Patient Understanding.

6. Add storage information to the table.

7. Add new Health Equity and Accessibility Considerations section.

8. Add information on emerging technologies.

 Additionally, minor editorial changes have been made to update the chapter to current USP style.
