BRIEFING
Water-Soluble Vitamins with Minerals Capsules. This proposal is based on the version of the monograph official as of May 1, 2016. The following changes are being proposed:
-
Add a new alternative analytical procedure for the simultaneous determination of vitamins C, B1, B2, B3, B6, folic acid, and pantothenic acid. The liquid chromatographic procedure is based on analyses performed with the Waters Atlantis T3 brand of column with L1 packing. The typical retention times for ascorbic acid, niacinamide, niacin, thiamin, pyridoxine, pantothenic acid, folic acid, and riboflavin are about 3.8, 4.2, 5.0, 5.8, 8.2, 9.9, 11.0, and 13.8 min, respectively.
-
Add an Identification section, and add clarifications to the Definition and Strength sections.
Additionally, minor editorial changes have been made to update the monograph to current USP style.
