INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE

This chapter provides general descriptions of, and definitions for, new animal drugs delivered in animal feeds. The term new animal drug is defined in 21 CFR §510.3(g). New animal drugs for use in animal feed are Type A medicated articles. The term Type A medicated article is defined later in this chapter. This chapter discusses general principles involved in the manufacture, packaging, and labeling of these new animal drugs and their regulatory framework.
