BRIEFING

 Sennosides Tablets. This proposal is based on the version of the monograph official prior to 2013. On the basis of the recent revision of the USP Sennosides monograph, it is proposed to replace the current procedure using the fluorescence method in the Assay with a new UHPLC method. The proposed UHPLC procedure is based on analyses performed with the Waters Aquity UPLC HSS T3 brand of column with L1 packing of 1.8-µm particle size. The typical retention times for sennoside B and sennoside A are 8.6 and 13.1 min, respectively.

 Additionally, minor editorial changes have been made to update the monograph to current USP style.
