Sennosides
DEFINITION
Sennosides is a partially purified natural complex of anthraquinone glucosides, isolated from senna leaflets and/or senna pods, Senna alexandrina Mill. [syn. Cassia acutifolia Delile or C. angustifolia Vahl] (Family Fabaceae), as calcium salts. It contains NLT 90.0% and NMT 110.0% of the labeled amount of sennosides. The labeled amount is NLT 60.0% (w/w), calculated on the dried basis.
