DEFINITION

Nonoxynol 9 is an anhydrous liquid mixture consisting chiefly of monononylphenyl ethers of polyethylene glycols corresponding to the formula: C₉H₁₉C₆H₄(OCH₂CH₂)_nOHin which the average value of n is 9. It contains NLT 90.0% and NMT 110.0% of nonoxynol 9.
