BRIEFING

 Methyl Salicylate. This proposal is based on the version of the monograph official as of December 1, 2021. On the basis of comments received, it is being proposed to revise the System suitability criterion for the Relative standard deviation from NMT 0.5% to NMT 2.0% for the methyl salicylate peak in the Assay to account for the sample and solvent volatility.

 Additionally, minor editorial changes have been made to update the monograph to current USP style.

 The comment period for this revision ends on November 30, 2026. In the absence of significant adverse comments, it is proposed to implement this revision via an Interim Revision Announcement with an official date of May 1, 2027.
