DEFINITION

Tienchi Ginseng Root and Rhizome Dry Extract is prepared from the dried roots and rhizomes of Panax notoginseng (Burkill) F.H. Chen ex C.Y. Wu & K.M. Feng (Fam. Araliaceae), collected before flowering in autumn, by extraction with hydroalcoholic mixtures. It contains NLT 90.0%–110.0% of the labeled amount of ginsenosides calculated on the dried basis as the sum of notoginsenoside R1 (C₄₇H₈₀O₁₈), ginsenoside Rg1 (C₄₂H₇₂O₁₄), ginsenoside Re (C₄₈H₈₂O₁₈), ginsenoside Rb1 (C₅₄H₉₂O₂₃), and ginsenoside Rd (C₄₈H₈₂O₁₈).
