Locust Bean Gum. Because there is no existing NF monograph for this excipient, a new monograph based on validated methods of analysis is proposed. The chromatographic procedure in the Assay is based on a validated HPLC procedure and is based on analyses performed with the Shodex SP0810 brand of column with L22 packing. The typical retention times for galactose, mannose, lactose, and dextrose are about 11.4, 12.2, 13.1, and 14.7 min, respectively.
