BRIEFING

 Maltitol Solution. This proposal is based on the version of the monograph official as of May 1, 2021. To reflect the changes to the General Notices and Requirements published elsewhere in this issue of PF, the following revisions to the monograph are proposed:

1. In the Definition, delete the sentence containing a reference to General Notices, 5.60.10 Other Impurities in USP and NF Articles, and add the sentence “It may also contain other sugars and polyhydric alcohols and any hexitol anhydrides.”

2. In the Reducing Sugars test, delete the note containing a reference to General Notices, 5.60.10 Other Impurities in USP and NF Articles.

 Additionally, minor editorial changes have been made to update the monograph to current USP style.
