DEFINITION

Glyceryl Mono- and Dipalmitostearate Type A contains NLT 40.0% and NMT 55.0% of monoglycerides from saturated fatty acids, chiefly glyceryl monostearate (C₂₁H₄₂O₄) and glyceryl monopalmitate (C₁₉H₃₈O₄), and NLT 30.0% and NMT 45.0% of diglycerides. It contains NLT 40.0% and NMT 60.0% of stearic acid upon hydrolysis. The fatty acids may be of vegetable or animal origin. It may contain a suitable antioxidant or stabilizer.
