 Benzocaine, Lidocaine, and Tetracaine Compounded Topical Cream. Because there is no existing USP monograph for this compounded preparation, a new monograph based on a validated stability-indicating method is being proposed. The liquid chromatographic procedure in the Assay is based on analyses validated using the Sunfire C18 brand of column with L7 packing. The typical retention times for benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine are about 6.5, 26.4, and 28.3 min, respectively.
