DEFINITION

Perilla Fruit Powder consists of the dried ripe fruit of Perilla frutescens (L.) Britton (Fam. Lamiaceae) reduced to a fine powder. It contains NLT 0.30% of total caffeic acid esters, calculated as the sum of rosmarinic acid (C₁₈H₁₆O₈) and salviaflaside (C₂₄H₂₆O₁₃), on the dried basis.
