DEFINITION

Perilla Fruit consists of the dried ripe fruit of Perilla frutescens (L.) Britton (Fam. Lamiaceae). It contains NLT 0.30% of total caffeic acid esters, calculated as the sum of rosmarinic acid (C18H16O8) and salviaflaside (C24H26O13), on the dried basis.
