 Streptococcus salivarius. A new USP monograph is being proposed for Streptococcus salivarius. The Definition includes the description at the species and strain levels. The strains currently proposed are Streptococcus salivarius K12 and M18, and nucleic acid-based identification is proposed at the strain level. Other strains of Streptococcus salivarius will be included in this monograph upon submission of the corresponding supporting information by manufacturers.
