Cumin Fruit. A new USP monograph for this dietary ingredient is being proposed. The gas chromatographic procedure in the test for Content of Cuminaldehyde and 4-Cymene was developed using the Agilent J&W DB-1 brand of column with 0.25-µm G1 phase. The typical retention times for cuminaldehyde and 4-cymene are 4.8 and 2.9 min, respectively.
