DEFINITION

Siler Root Dry Extract is prepared by extraction with water from the dried roots of Saposhnikovia divaricata (Turcz. ex Ledeb.) Schischk. (Fam. Apiaceae). The roots are collected in spring or autumn before or after the growth of flowering stems, and rootlets are removed. It contains NLT 90% and NMT 110% of the labeled amount of total chromones calculated as the sum of prim-O-glucosylcimifugin (C₂₂H₂₈O₁₁), cimifugin (C₁₆H₁₈O₆), 5-O-methylvisammioside (C₂₂H₂₈O₁₀), and sec-O-glucosylhamaudol (C₂₁H₂₆O₁₀) on the dried basis. It may contain suitable added substances as carriers.
