DEFINITION

Sour Jujube Seed Powder consists of the sun-dried and ripened seeds of Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa (Bunge) Hu ex H.F.Chow reduced to a fine or very fine powder. It contains NLT 0.10% of total triterpenoid glycosides calculated as the sum of jujuboside A (C₅₈H₉₄O₂₆) and jujuboside B (C₅₂H₈₄O₂₁) on the dried basis, and NLT 0.15% of total flavone C-glycosides calculated as the sum of spinosin (C₂₈H₃₂O₁₅) and 6'''-feruloylspinosin (C₃₈H₄₀O₁₈) on the dried basis.
