DEFINITION
Japanese Sophora Flower Dry Extract is prepared from the dried opened flowers or flower buds of Styphnolobium japonicum (L.) Schott (Syn. Sophora japonica L.) by extraction with water or hydroalcoholic mixtures. It contains NLT 90% and NMT 110% of the labeled amount of total flavonol glycosides calculated as the sum of rutin (C27H30O16), kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside (C27H30O15), and isorhamnetin-3-O-rutinoside (C28H32O16) on the dried basis; NLT 90% and NMT 110% of the labeled amount of rutin on the dried basis; and NLT 0.4% and NMT 3.0% of quercetin (C15H10O7) on the dried basis. It may contain suitable added substances as carriers.
