Japanese Sophora Flower Powder
DEFINITION
Japanese Sophora Flower Powder consists of the dried opened flowers of Styphnolobium japonicum (L.) Schott (Syn. Sophora japonica L.) reduced to a fine or very fine powder. It contains NLT 7.5% and NMT 14% of total flavonol glycosides calculated as the sum of rutin (C27H30O16), kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside (C27H30O15), and isorhamnetin-3-O-rutinoside (C28H32O16) on the dried basis; NLT 6.5% and NMT 13% of rutin on the dried basis; and NLT 0.4% and NMT 1.0% of quercetin (C15H10O7) on the dried basis.
