DEFINITION

Terminalia chebula Fruit consists of the pericarp of the dried ripe fruits of Terminalia chebula Retz. (Fam. Combretaceae). It contains NLT 15% of hydrolyzable tannins, calculated as the sum of chebulagic acid and chebulinic acid on the dried basis.
