DESCRIPTION

Hesperidin occurs as a white to light-yellow or light-brown crystalline powder that consists of a bioflavonoid that is produced by aqueous extraction of citrus fruits. Major natural sources of hesperidin include grapefruit, lemon, orange, and tangerine. Hesperidin is raw material in the production of the dihydrochalcone of neohesperidin, a nonnutritive sweetener. It is slightly soluble in water and alcohols, and soluble in solutions of the alkali hydroxides.
