DESCRIPTION
Magnesium Acid Pyrophosphate occurs as white crystals or a fine white powder. It is the acidic magnesium salt of diphosphoric acid. Magnesium Acid Pyrophosphate is manufactured by adding an aqueous dispersion of magnesium hydroxide to phosphoric acid until the desired Mg:P molar ratio of about 1:2 is achieved. It is slightly soluble in water and practically insoluble in ethanol.
