Pea Protein
DESCRIPTION
Pea Protein is derived from the yellow pea (Pisum sativum). It is produced from raw pea using a mechanical milling, sifting, dehulling, and centrifugation to remove starches and fibers. The protein is isolated through further centrifugation followed by spray-drying and/or isoelectric precipitation. During the course of manufacturing, Pea Protein may be treated with suitable enzymes and is subjected to heat treatment to reduce residual enzymes, microbiological activity, and other anti-nutrient factors. Pea Protein occurs as an off-white to cream or pale yellow powder.
