DESCRIPTION
Glucosamine Hydrochloride occurs as a white powder or crystalline powder. It is manufactured using chitin or chitosan which has been extracted from shells of crustacea (such as crabs and shrimps) or from bones of mollusca (such as squid and cuttlefish) and then hydrolyzed with hydrochloric acid or through enzymatic hydrolysis. The pH of a 1% (w/v) aqueous solution of Glucosamine Hydrochloride is approximately 4.0–7.0.
