DESCRIPTION

Oxygen occurs as a colorless and odorless gas that supports combustion. It may be condensed to a light blue liquid boiling at –182.96° or to a white solid melting at –218.4°. One L of Oxygen weighs about 1.429 g at 0° and 760 mm Hg. One volume of the gas dissolves in about 32 volumes of water or in about 7 volumes of alcohol at 20° and 760 mm Hg.
