DESCRIPTION

d-Ribose occurs as a white to slightly yellow crystalline powder. It has a fruity sweet odor. d-Ribose is obtained by isolation from the fermentation culture fluid of d-glucose by the Gram-positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis.
