DESCRIPTION

l-Valine occurs as a white, crystalline powder. It is freely soluble in water; practically insoluble in alcohol and in ether. The pH of a 1:20 aqueous solution is 5.5–7.0. In a closed capillary tube, it melts at about 315°.
