DESCRIPTION

Thiamine Hydrochloride occurs as small, white to yellow-white crystals or crystalline powder. When exposed to air, the anhydrous product rapidly absorbs about 4% of water. It melts at about 248° with some decomposition. One g dissolves in about 1 mL of water and in about 100 mL of alcohol. It is soluble in glycerin, and is insoluble in ether.
