DESCRIPTION

Lovage Oil occurs as a yellow-green-brown to deep brown liquid with a strong, characteristic aromatic odor and taste. It is the volatile oil obtained by steam distillation of the fresh root of the plant Levisticum officinale L. Koch syn. Angelica levisticum, Baillon (Fam. Umbelliferae). It is soluble in most fixed oils and slightly soluble, with opalescence, in mineral oil, but it is relatively insoluble in glycerin and in propylene glycol.
