DESCRIPTION

l-Leucine occurs as small, white, lustrous plates or as a white, crystalline powder. One g dissolves in about 40 mL of water and in about 100 mL of glacial acetic acid. It is sparingly soluble in alcohol; soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid and in solutions of alkali hydroxides and carbonates.
