DESCRIPTION

Calcium Pantothenate, Racemic occurs as a white, slightly hygroscopic powder. It is a mixture of the calcium salts of the dextrorotatory (d) and levorotatory (l) isomers of pantothenic acid. It is optically inactive. It is stable in air and freely soluble in water. It is soluble in glycerin, and is practically insoluble in alcohol, in chloroform, and in ether. Its solutions are neutral or alkaline to litmus.
