BRIEFING

 β-Carotene, FCC 14. Based on data and information received, revisions are proposed for the Assay, including updates to the setting for the spectrophotometer and the calculation.

 Additionally, the formula weight was updated in the chemical information section and the Note in Suitability requirements in α-Carotene and Other Related Compounds is moved to a new Chromatogram similarity section. The proposed updates will bring the FCC monograph into alignment with the USP-NF Beta Carotene monograph.

 Additionally, minor editorial changes have been made to update the monograph to current USP style.

 This proposal is targeted for publication in FCC 15.
